On April 22, 2013 we celebrated our spring fundraiser "The Spring Huddle" featuring Pam Tebow.  We went with a football theme with tailgating to start off our night.  We had 1919 Rootbeer, Yum! Also, we had many different finger foods and desserts. The food was provided by Martin Brothers, Cookie Crave and Scratch, and other area stores.  Our caterering was proveded by Kristeena Opfer.  Kristeena owns a great tea room in Palo, Ia.  If you find yourself in that area look her up, it is called Wild Thyme, she has some really great food! Game time started off with a prayer from Pastor King from Nazareth Evangelical Lutheran Church.  Janet Lyons our Executive Director and Denise Coen Our Board Chair spoke about Alternatives and what has been happening.  Next on the field was our Honorary Chair Person Mark Hubbard, he spoke with such passion for Alternatives and for life, what an exciting story he had to tell!  In the end zone was Pam Tebow, she spoke with such wisdom and grace.  She had many wonderful stories of the Tebow family woven in with scripture and a call to action. We also shared a video of some of our babies, and a video of some of our clients talking about their experiences.  You can check out that video on our facebook page or click on this link https://vimeo.com/64468920 .  We were blessed to have Morgan Hawthorne taking the still shots of our babies.  She has Hawthorne photography if you are interested.:) Luke and Kyle Hawthorne made the video, they own Foundation Films, they do weddings.:)  There were over 400 people who attended our game that night and over $80,000 in pledges and donations came in.  We are so thankful to all who attended and gave of their time, prayer and from their finances to make this evening a fantastic event!

We had so many wonderful volunteers that night from UNI FCA, what a great group of hardworking college men and women.  We had many other wonderful volunteers who gave of their time of which we really appreciate! It was superb!
